Mission Inn Hosts First LPGA Qualifier

Mission Inn Resort is pleased to welcome the first LPGA Tour qualifying event this month! The inaugural Mission Inn Resort and Club Championship presented by the Insurance Office of America will be played on the historic El Campeón course from Oct. 15-17.

The competition is part of the Symetra Tour, the official qualifying tour of the LPGA. Contestants will square off for a total purse of $125,000 in 54-hole stroke play and a spot on the LPGA tour. The field will be cut to the lowest 60 players and ties after 36 holes of competition. The 84 starting contestants include Wake Forest University golfer Rachel Kuehn, who is being sponsored by Mission Inn.

The goal of the Symetra Tour, which is in its 40th competitive season, is to prepare the best young women golfers for a successful career on the pro tour.

While Mission Inn has hosted more than 20 NCAA Championships and numerous PGA qualifying schools on both of its golf courses over the years, this month’s competition on the 103-year-old El Campeón is the first LPGA event to take place at the resort.

Come out and watch these up-and-coming women golfers play!
