HOLD THE LINE!
It’s prime time for bass fishing in Lake County. The Big Bass Tour three-day event comes to the Harris Chain of Lakes next month as part of the 2019 tournament series. Anglers in 10 states will compete for $1.5 million in prizes and payouts overall in this premier amateur bass fishing tour. Here in Lake County, contestants of all skill levels will be fishing in rivers, creeks and canals connected to the Harris Chain during the Florida Big Bass Classic from Feb. 15-17. There will be weigh-ins and prizes awarded hourly each day from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at Hickory Point Recreational Facility in Tavares. Event registration is full, but spectators can go to the weigh-ins and check out which skilled (and lucky!) anglers get to take home a share of the local event prizes and payouts worth $133,525.
