March 30, 2023 – Kiira Riihijarvi is Mission Inn Resort’s new brand ambassador
Mission inn Resort & Club is very excited to share our new partnership with LPGA Tour professional, Kiira Riihijärvi as a Mission Inn Resort & Club Brand Ambassador. As part of this one-year partnership, Riihijärvi will wear the resort logo on the front of her tour bag and make a special appearance at the resort later this year. A rising star in women’s golf, Finnish native Riihijärvi, was first exposed to golf at the age of nine after participating in a children’s beginners’ course at the Virpiniemi Golf Club in Oulu, Finland. Riihijärvi would go on to make history in 2021 as the first Finnish female golfer to ever play in the legendary Augusta National Women’s Amateur. During her collegiate career at The University of Tampa, Riihijärvi served as the team captain and accomplished 13 individual wins. She was a five-time All-American, two-time NCAA D2 Player of the Year, and two-time Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year. As an amateur golfer, Riihijärvi ranked #18 in the world and placed first at the 2019 and 2020 Finnish Amateur Championships. We are very excited and honored to have this partnership with Kiira and look forward to all of her accomplishments in 2023!
March 29, 2023 – Yana Wilson is this year’s sponsor exemption player
Congratulations to Yana Wilson, who has been invited to play at the 2023 Inova Mission Inn Resort Championship as the sponsor exemption! Each year, the sponsors invite a player who isn’t competing to take part in the event as a sponsorship exemption. This year’s participant is the reigning 2022 United States Golf Association – USGA Girls Champion! Wilson is also set to play in the 2023 Augusta National Women’s Amateur starting today!
