Let’s not forget what exists outside
Springtime certainly has a way of instilling a sense of awe for our beautiful planet, as well as a sense of gratitude for the new life that spring promises. Each spring season, on April 22, people all over the world celebrate and honor Earth Day to remind ourselves to take time to appreciate our planet and the land, air, oceans and wildlife that sustain us. It is also a great time to think about how our lives, both individually and collectively, affect the natural environment.
Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and celebrated in more than 193 countries each year. Events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection and conservation efforts, and to pay tribute to the quiet beauty we are surrounded by throughout the year.
Earth Day is a special time to remind ourselves here at Mission Inn Resort to be thankful for the extraordinary natural environment that makes our Resort so special, and how important it is to protect the earth so that future generations may enjoy these wonders as well. We are grateful for the opportunity to remember to unplug, slow down, and take in the sights, sounds and spirit of our surroundings.
