Unique Resident at Lake Idamere in Beautiful Lake County, Florida

Located in Lake County, Lake Idamere Park is 45 acres of century old oaks and a diversity of wildlife including 20 species of butterflies, 85 species of birds, Scrub Lizards, and Gopher Tortoise. Native to Florida and dating back thousands of years, the gopher tortoise is a key species to the community around it. Named for its digging abilities, this tortoise has shovel like front legs that it uses to dig wide burrows which serve as a refuge for it and others members of its ecosystem.

Things To Do at Lake Idamere Park

Lake Idamere Park is an ideal place to rejuvenate with an exhilarating hike or refresh with a leisurely stroll amidst Mother Nature. The two mile trail is great for hikers of all ages wanting to get into shape. At one point there is a pier jutting out over the lake where you can catch your breath and take in the beauty of the area. For those wanting to picnic or do a cookout, there is a picnic area with grills and tables. There’s also a unique dog park designed with three sections for different sizes of dogs. Here you can walk or play with your canine friends in the quiet of a beautiful country setting.
