Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., (July 23, 2012) – Central Florida's Mission Inn Resort & Club will once again serve as the backdrop for the annual Lake County Junior Golf Open. The annual two-day tournament, conducted by the Lake County Junior Golf Association, is set for August 9 – 10.
The tournament provides golfers, ages 10-18, with an opportunity to challenge their friends and themselves, on two of Central Florida's most unique courses -- Mission Inn's El Campeon and Las Colinas.
On the tournament's first day, El Campeon, the third oldest course in Florida, will challenge the field of junior golfers with tee to green elevation changes of 85 feet, which is very unusual for Florida, along with water on 13 of the 18 holes, two holes with peninsula greens and one with an island green.
On day two, the tournament moves to the resort's Las Colinas course and its open fairways and large greens. The event then wraps up with an awards presentation.
Lake County Junior Golf Association members receive complimentary registration for the event. Non-members can sign up to play for $25.
