It takes a special venue for companies to mix adventure with learning new skills, including trust, team building, cooperation and collaboration.
Mission Inn Resort’s Adventure Learning Center is designed to allow employees to escape the office and achieve long-range individual and group benefits. Recently, in this unique environment for corporate learning and development, one of Florida’s foremost locations became the outdoor classroom for representatives from Grow Mark, Florida Farm Bureau, BB&T Bank, Florida Virtual School, Beacon College, Personal Chef Association, Broward County Farm Bureau, Mid-FL Eye, Central Florida Sports, Siemens, Trussway Manufacturing Inc. and CRC Industries Inc
Under the watchful eyes of leading experts, who possess more than 100 accumulated years of global experience in training organizations to dramatically increase bottom-line results through leadership development and team commitment, two dozen people took the challenge and became immersed in a safe environment that replicated the workplace and provided the opportunity to challenge their thinking and behaviors.
Archie Tews, long considered a global expert in this arena, was on hand to deliver experiential learning programs for these diverse companies. He shared well-honed adventure learning skills to engage participant in custom-designed adventure learning events, which were dynamic, exciting, fun, and potentially life-changing. Each event was supported by a curriculum grounded in a deep knowledge of the corporate environment.
“The Adventure Learning Center is an indescribable experience,” said Stevie Johns, Florida Virtual School. “It’s worthy, it’s emotional, it’s physical, it’s outcome driven, and it’s real. I cannot wait until we have the opportunity to have our whole team participate. There are many underlying themes to drive the messages home and something I will use in my daily role.”
